This tutorial will show you how to add lock screen widgets to your own custom remotes. Please note that at the time this tutorial was published, lock screen widgets were only available for the Vectir Android remote control app.
Step 1
Make sure you have version 4.1 or later of the Vectir PC remote control server installed and version 4.1 or later of the Vectir PC remote control app for Android installed.
Step 2
Create your own custom remote if you haven’t done so already. You can follow the custom remote control tutorial here for creating your own custom remotes.
Step 3
Choose between 3 and 5 commands that you would like to appear on your widget. 3 is recommended. Right click on the first command and select ‘Command Parameters’.
Step 4
On the Command Parameters dialog choose the command type that relates to the command. In the following example we are going to add a lock screen widget command for Play/Pause:
NOTE: On the Command Parameters dialog the command types that are supported for lock screen widgets are Play/Pause, Next, Previous, Fast Forward and Rewind. Confirm, Power and Close menu are not lock screen widget commands.
Step 5
Repeat Step 4 for the remaining commands. For media player widgets, Play/Pause, Next and Previous commands are recommended.
Step 6
Once you have added all of your lock screen widget commands load your remote and test! See the previous blog post Lock Screen Widget Tutorial for more information about using lock screen widgets with Vectir.
